What does a useful FOB quotation contain?

An FOB quotation should name the port of shipment and the applicable Incoterms version, along with the exact product and included packing. The buyer also needs the quotation validity, production period and any charges outside the quoted scope. For a shipment that will not be delivered on board a vessel under the agreed arrangement, ask whether a different term fits better.

We quote from a confirmed specification. Material, dimensions, electrical configuration, quantity, testing, spares and packaging can all change the product cost.

Can you quote DDP to my address?

A DDP option must be assessed for the named destination, product and importer arrangement. We will state whether it is available and itemize the written scope; do not assume that duty, tax, clearance or final delivery is included in an earlier product price.

For a meaningful comparison, provide the destination country, city and postal code, delivery site type and any importer or customs restrictions. Your local broker should confirm the legal and tax treatment.

How should I calculate landed cost?

Build the comparison in rows: equipment and included accessories; export packing; origin charges; international freight and insurance; destination handling; clearance; duty and tax; and final inland delivery. Put the responsible party beside every row for each quotation. Only add a cost to your own landed budget if that row is outside the supplier’s written scope; this avoids both gaps and double counting.

For one or two bulky worktables or sinks, ask whether your Chinese forwarder can consolidate the order. A lower unit price can still produce a higher delivered cost if the packed volume is large.

Which payment and after-sales terms apply?

Payment method, deposit, balance trigger, warranty coverage and spare-parts support belong in the signed quotation or contract for the exact order. We do not publish one unconditional payment schedule or warranty for every product line.
