Customer Needs & Challenges
The customer was building a counter where guests watch the cooking, with a station on each side. The main challenges were:
- Both stations are mirror images, so plate heights, screen angles and counter widths had to match exactly – guests see the two sides at the same time.
- The glass deflector screens had to be removable for cleaning but still sit tight in their frames, with no rattle and no exposed fasteners on the guest side.
- The ring cutouts in the griddle plates had to be positioned so the rings drop in and lift out easily, and the plates had to sit level inside the frame.
- The centre island takes a lot of handling from the guest side, so the exposed edges needed to be turned and polished, with the cabinet under the burners lockable.
Our Solution
Both stations and the centre island were built as one set, so the visible counter lines and plate heights match across the whole run.

Manufacturing & Quality Control
The two stations had to read as a matched pair, so they were built and checked side by side:
- Both stations were built on the same jigs and compared against each other before packing.
- Glass screens were trial-fitted in their frames and checked for tightness in the channel and for a clean removal and refit.
- Griddle plates were checked for level, ring fit and clear access for lifting the rings.
- Exposed edges and guest-side returns were de-burred and polished, and both stations were compared side by side on the factory floor before packing.

Results
Both stations and the centre island were delivered as one set and positioned as a matched pair. Key value delivered:
- Two stations built as a pair, so the counter reads as one design from the guest side instead of two similar-looking units.
- Glass screens come out for cleaning and go back tight, with no exposed fasteners on the guest side.
- Ring cutouts let staff change the griddle setup quickly during service.
- Lockable storage under the centre island keeps spare pans and tools out of sight.
